r <br /> 4. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1170 provides that each public servant shall receive a minimum of one hour <br /> of education and training on the Code of Governmental Ethics during each year of his public <br /> employment or term of office, as the case may be. <br /> 5. <br /> On February 23, 2018, Demonk Greely was sent a Notice of Failure to Complete 2017 <br /> Ethics Training. This notice provided Mr. Greely thirty (30) days from the mailing of the notice <br /> to complete the required training. <br /> 5. <br /> On April 5, 2018, Demonk Greely was sent a Final Notice of Failure to Complete 2017 <br /> Ethics Training via certified mail. This notice provided Mr. Greely forty-five (45) business days <br /> from the mailing of the correspondence to complete the required training. <br /> 7. <br /> As of this date, Mr. Greely has failed to complete the required Ethics Training, in <br /> accordance with La. R.S. 42:1170, for the calendar year of 2017. <br /> 8. <br /> Based on the foregoing facts, Demonk Greely violated La. R.S. 42:1170 by virtue of his <br /> failure to receive one hour of education and training on the Code of Governmental Ethics during <br /> the 2017 calendar year. <br /> 9. <br /> In accordance with La. R.S. 42:1141 C (3)(b)(iv), the Board designates Brett A. Robinson <br /> and Tracy M. Barker as the Board's trial attorneys in this matter. <br /> 2 <br />
