. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1153B provides the following with respect to penalties for violations of the <br /> Code of Governmental Ethics: <br /> Upon a detennin.ation that any public employee or other person has violated any <br /> provision of any lave within the jurisdiction of the Board of Ethics except violations <br /> of the Campaign Finwice Disclosure Act which shall be governed by qhapter I l of <br /> Title 18 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 19501 the Ethics Adjudicatory Board <br /> may remove, suspend, or order a reduction in pay, or demotion of the public <br /> employee or other person, or impose a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars, or <br /> both. <br /> 4. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1155A provides the following with respect to civil penalties for i lle gal gains <br /> If an investigation conducted pursuant to this part reveals that any public servant or <br /> other person has violated any lav within. the jurisdiction of the Board of Ethics to <br /> his economic advantage, and after an adjudicatory hearing on the nutter, the Fthi cs <br /> Adjudicatory Board may order the payment of penalties. Recovery may include, in <br /> addition to an amount equal to such economic advantage, penalties not to exceed <br /> one half of the amount of the economics advantage. <br /> vIll <br /> PRAYED FOR RELIEF <br /> Based on the foregoing facts, I yker B. Anthony and Anthony}s Tree Service, L.L.C., <br /> violated La. R.S. 4 :1113 (l)(a) by entering into a contract, subcontract, or other transaction that <br /> is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the Town of Kentwood ood while Michelle Anthony, who is <br /> Tyrer B. Anthony s another and has a controlling interest in Anthony's Tree Service, L.L. ., was <br /> serving as Town Clerk for the Town of Kentwood. <br /> WHEREFORE, the Louisiana Board of Ethics respectfully prays that: <br /> (a) The Ethicsdj udicatory Board conducts a public hearing on the foregoing <br /> charges; <br /> (b) The Ethics Adjudicatory Board finds that Ryker B. Anthony and/or Antb ony's <br /> Tree Service, L.L.C. violated La. R.S. 42:1 113 1 (a) with respect to the <br /> forgoing alleged facts; <br /> Page 5 of 6 (Agency Tracking No. 2023-996) <br />
