Request that the Board reconsider to waive the $1,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against Joseph Roger Bergeron, a candidate for Mayor of Port Allen, in the November 6, 2012 election, whose Special campaign finance disclosure report was filed 45 days late. |
|
In connection with his request for reconsideration of a waiver of the $1,000 late fee assessed for the late filing of a Special campaign finance report, Joseph Roger Bergeron, states that his report was untimely filed because he overlooked the reporting requirements for filing a Special report. He can only attribute the oversight to being extremely busy during the last week of his campaign and completing his mayoral duties to the end of his term. He also states that having no similar report required for the primary election contributed to the omission as well. Mr. Bergeron ask that the late fee be waived or reduced, based on the fact that he has no prior late filings and has not been late with any reports in connection with the November 6, 2012 election. Mr. Bergeron is an "any other" level candidate. This is his second campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
