RE:
Request that the Board waive the $520 campaign finance late fee assessed against Al J. Kaiser, a candidate for Council Member, District 2, City of Westwego in the April 6, 2013 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 13 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Al Kaiser states that all of his reports submitted so far have been sent by fax located at his place of employment. He states that recently a more complex fax machine had been installed making the process in his opinion more complicated. Normally, a receipt is printed to show that documents have been sent successfully; the new machine no longer gives that type of warning. He further states that he intents to fully cooperate with the decision of the Board in this matter. He does plan on running for public office again in his community and he fears this will be used against him.
