Police Chief Scotty LaBorde is considering hiring Chris Paul, the son of Oakdale's mayor Gene Paul, to work as a police officer for the city of Oakdale. The Chief of Police for Oakdale is an elected position. However, all hiring and discipline regarding police officers must go before the Mayor and the City Council.
