Mrs. Patty Matlock asked whether she may apply for a newly created paid secretarial position for the Board of Commissioners for Northeast Bossier Fire Protection District No 5 in rural Bossier Parish while her husband, Ronald S. Matlock serves the district as Fire Chief. The person selected will not have any fire district decision making responsibilities. The President of the Fire Board of Commissioners will be the supervisor over this employee. She has stated that her husband has been the District Fire Chief for almost 20 years.
The fire department already has a secretary which he supervises. The Board of Commissioners Secretarial position is not under his supervision and has no responsibility to the Fire Chief.
