Mr. Montondo has asked whether there is a violation of the Code of Governmental Ethics if a fireman is compensated by two neighboring fire departments for the same call. The fire departments in his area have mutual aid agreements and some volunteer firefighters are on call for more than one fire department. Therefore, the same firefighter may be called by two different fire departments to fight the same fire.
