James Strickland states that he is the appointed Registrar of Voters in Washington Parish and has held this position since 2012. To supplement his income, he would like to renew his real estate license. He states that showings of homes would take place until after office hours for the Registrar's Office.

Section 1111C(1)(a) prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value from an outside source for the performance of services which are devoted substantially to the responsibilities, programs, or operations of the agency of the public servant and in which the public servant has participated. Section 1112 of the Code prohibits a public servant from participating in a transaction involving his governmental entity in which he has a substantial economic interest.
