| Advisory opinion request regarding whether Ben Taylor, the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Lake Charles, may accept an appointment to serve as a member of the "Jeff Davis Bank Advisory Board." |

Mr. Taylor is currently employed as the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Lake Charles. The Bank Board would be "advisory only," as it would not make any policy decisions. He has stated that the Housing Authority does business with many banks in the area and Jeff Davis Bank is one of them. The purpose of the Board would be to advise the bank on the economic development planned for the Lake Charles area. The current board members receive a $200 per quarter Per-Diem.

La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d) of the Code prohibits a public servant from receiving a thing of economic value for the performance of services, from any person who has or seeks a business, contractual or financial relationship with the public servant's agency.
