Advisory opinion request from Marrianne Williber the Executive Director of Bunkie Housing Authority Avoyelles Parish regarding whether the Code of Governmental Ethics (Code) would prohibit her daughter Frankie Williber from becoming a tenant of the housing authority.
Facts:
Ms. Williber has made a request to withdraw her advisory opinion as the matter has been resolved. Ms. Williber is the Executive Director of the Bunkie Housing Authority. She requested an advisory opinion regarding whether the Code would prohibit her daughter Frankie Williber from becoming a tenant of the housing authority. The matter has been resolved as Frankie Williber has withdrawn her application for public housing and resides with a private landlord.
Law:
La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) No public servant except as provided in R.S. 42:1120 shall participate in a transaction involving the governmental entity in which an immediate family member has a substantial economic interest.

La. R.S. 42:1113A(1)(a) prohibits public servants, their immediate family members, or legal entities in which they have a controlling interest, from bidding on or entering into any contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servants.
Recommendations:
Allow the withdrawal of the opinion request.
