RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against Great New Orleans AFL-CIO PAC whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 5 days late,
Facts:
In connection with the request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Nancy Picard, attorney representing Greater New Orleans AFL-CIO PAC states that the PAC was just organized in January, 2014. She says that it was checked that they were a "monthly filer" on the Statement of Organization filed on January 27, 2014 as well as on the Committee Report, and filed on the 10th day of March, which was the deadline for monthly filers. However, without the notice to file monthly, the report was interpreted to be due by March 5, 2014. The PAC has since filed its notice to file monthly.

She states that the PAC disclosed all information accurately and the Ethics Board was clearly on notice that it intended to file monthly although it mistakenly left off the additional form. It was a newly formed PAC that was still becoming familiar with the rules and voluntarily filed its report with all required information on a date that it believed to be timely.
