The Town of Vivian has a population of approximately 3,800, as such it is hard to recruit life guards for the Town pool. Emily Taylor, the daughter of the Mayor, is a certified life guard and the Town Recreation Department would like to hire her for the summer.

La. R.S. 42:1119B(1) provides that no member of the immediate family of a member of a governing authority or the chief executive of a governmental entity shall be employed by the governmental entity.
