Request that the Board waive the $240, $1,000, $1,000 and $1,000 campaign finance late fees assessed against Kristie Fraught, a candidate for Council Member, District D, City of Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, in the April 5, 2014 election, whose 2013 Annual, 30-P, 10-P and EDE-P Reports were filed 70, 54, 40 and 6 days late. |

In connection with her request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the reports, Kristie Fraught states that she was in the emergency room on April 24, due to an emergency with her daughter in addition during the campaign three of her campaign signs were vandalized two nights before her election. While her signs were targeted the other two candidate's signs were undamaged. Also, during the election she found that her eight year old daughter may be classified for special eduction due to an auditory problem. She states that her focus has been between the wrapping up the Slidell City Council race and working with the St. Tammany Parish School board to find out what services are available to her daughter. She says she is a single Mother and was running for council to give back to the community. She says this was her first time running for office and it was an oversight of sending the finance report on time. She states that is appreciates any consideration and is simply begging for assistance in waiving the fees, that she tried her best to follow all the rules and she does not believe in breaking them and she takes full responsibility for providing correct information.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
