Request that the Board reconsider to waive the $480 and $1,680 campaign finance late fees assessed against Michael Ned, a candidate for Judge, 14th JDC, Calcasieu Parish in the April 5, 2014 election, whose 10-P Report was filed 8 days late and 30-P Report was filed 28 days late. |

In connection with his request for reconsideration, Mr. Ned states that he is enclosing a letter from his report preparer for the campaign finance report that is reflecting that this error was not his fault. The preparer was under the assumption that the schedule of reporting and filing dates were the same as other candidates for district judge, which is November 4, 2014. He is respectfully requesting that the Board either waive or reduce the late fees considering the evidence provided for review.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
