Robert Hecker is the appointed Harbor Chief of Police for the Port of New Orleans. The jurisdictional limits of the Harbor Police Department include all the property within the jurisdiction under the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans and the approaches thereto. The Harbor Police are permitted to work paid details during their off-duty time.
