Advisory opinion request regarding the Independence Volunteer Fire Department and the Volunteer Fire Board terminating fire chiefs.
Facts:
John Polito is a volunteer firefighter for the Independence Volunteer Fire Department. He communicated through telephone that the volunteer fire board has terminated two fire chiefs in the past year.
Law:
1116A prohibits a public servant from using the authority of his office or position, directly or indirectly, in a manner intended to compel or coerce or other public servant to provide himself, any other public servant, or other person with any thin of economic value.
Recommendations:
Decline to render an opinion.
