Maureen O'Brien is a member of the St. Tammany Parish Council (Council). St. Tammany Parish is under a Home Rule Charter form of government. The Council serves as the legislative function of government in the Parish. It votes on an operating budget as well as approving all directors of departments and agencies created under the charter unless otherwise provided. It also selects board members of certain organizations.
Ms. O'Brien's agency and governmental entity is the St. Tammany Parish Government (St. Tammany).
Ms. O'Brien is employed as a sales representative for GBP Direct and as an independent contractor for The Bridge Radio. GBP Direct sells business and office supplies. Her position with The Bridge Radio requires the selling of advertisements during radio programs.

Section 1111C(2)(d) prohibits a public servant from receiving anything of economic value for or in consideration from a person who has or is seeking to obtain contractual or other business or financial relationships with the public servant's agency.
Section 1113A(1)(a) prohibits a public servant or member of such a public servant's immediate family, or legal entity in which he has a controlling interest from bidding on or entering into any contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant.
