RE:
Request that the Board waive the $280 campaign finance late fee assessed against Arthur Lee, a candidate for Mayor, City of Tallulah, Madison Parish, in the May 3, 2014 election whose Special Report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Arthur R. Lee states that he would like to begin by requesting clarity with the dates referenced in this letter. He enclosed a copy of the cover for the special campaign disclosure report that was required after the May 3, 2014 Mayoral Primary election dated May 5th and mailed on that date. He is confident that the dates which appear on the envelope will verify that it was mailed May 5, 2014.

He states this was an unusual election because of the death of the sitting mayor a week before the previously scheduled primary election, thus pushing back the primary for the Mayor's election to May 3, 2014 and the General election to May 31, 2014. He states that in light of the dates and of the confusion, he would like to ask the board's consideration of a waiver of the assessed fine of $280.
