In connection with his reconsideration request that the Board consider to waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report. Herbert Dixon states that he is requesting the fine for the late filing be reduced since the report was entered on June 10 and a transmission was attempted on the 10th and 11th before putting the report in regular U.S. Mail.
After speaking with the IT Department it was learned that the issue with transmission to Leaders was a glitch in their system. On May 23, 2014 the PAC had new computers installed by an outside vendor (CMC Technology) and the PAC was not aware that all of the systems or programs that were transferred were a go.
When Ms. Buggage spoke to Mr. Dawson for help, he asked a series of questions and was able to determine what the problem was. Mr. Dawson then fixed the computer issue via satellite and all reports since have been submitted in a timely manner. He said they are just jump starting the PAC again, and he hopes that the Board will give a positive response to his request.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
