RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,300 campaign finance late fee assessed against Taetrece Harrison, a candidate for Judge, Domestic Court, Civil District Court, Orleans Parish in the November 4, 2014 election, whose 90-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 13 days late.
Facts:
In connection with her request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Taetrece Harrison states that they called the office on August 19th to inquire about reporting requirements and to get assistance with the electronic filing of the reports that need to be filed after qualifying. At this time, she became aware that, due to her campaign fundraising activities, she had a report that should have been filed by August 6th. She states she immediately filed the report that day. She says that this being her first time running for an elected position and not having any experience with dealing with the Ethics Board she was under the impression that the report was not due until after qualifying but unfortunately she was mistaken.
