William Crates was appointed to the Louisiana Board of Wholesale Drug Distributors in 2003. His final term expired in April 2012. However, his successor was not appointed and confirmed until December 20, 2012. He would like be employed as the Executive Director for the LBWDD.

La. R.S. 37:3463D provides that each member of the Louisiana Board of Wholesale Drug Distributors shall serve until his successor has been appointed and qualified.

|
La. R.S. 42:1121A(2) No former member of a board or commission shall, for a period of two years following the termination of his public service on such board or commission, contract with, be employed in any capacity by, or be appointed to any position by that board or commission.
