Advisory opinion request from Samuel Schudmak, III, regarding whether there are any conflicts of interest if he serves as a board member on the Jefferson Parish Finance Authority (JFPA) and as a traffic hearing officer (THO) for the First Parish Court.
Facts:
Mr. Schudmak is appointed by sitting judges to serve as a THO to the First Parish Court approximately two months out of the year. He was asked to become a board member of the JPFA.
Recommendations:
Decline to render and recommend he seek advice from the Attorney General.
