The Bossier Parish School Board is considering purchasing property from Atkins-Sonnier Family Lands, LLC which is 100% owned by Laura Lee Sonnier Leflett, the Assistant Principal of Apollo Elementary School, and her immediate family. The price of the property would be determined by fair market value as determined by an appraisal. The tract of land being considered for purchase would be used for a new middle school to be built in Benton, Louisiana.

La. R.S. 42:1113A(1)(a) prohibits public servants, their immediate family members, or legal entities in which they have a controlling interest, from entering into any contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant.
