Advisory opinion request by Yolanda Martin, deputy general counsel for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (DWF), regarding whether she may serve as an instructor at Southern University and A&M College (Southern) teaching Real Estate Transactions while being employed by DFW.
Facts:
Ms. Martin is the supervisor of the Land Acquisition Program and deputy general counsel for DWF. She is responsible for handling and assisting the general counsel in all legal activities of the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission and the DWF. Southern Vice Chancellor Russell Jones offered her a position teaching Real Estate Transactions.
Recommendations:
Decline to render and refer to Attorney General.
