RE:
Request that the Board waive the $120 campaign finance late fee assessed against James E. Paxton, a candidate for District Attorney, 6th Judicial District, East Carroll Parish in the November 4, 2014 Election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 2 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Mr. Paxton states that his assistant Donna Abrahm who is responsible for the timely filing was dealing with a personal family injury. Her husband broke his neck which required immediate emergency care and repair. When she realized that the deadline had passed, she immediately informed him and he then called the Ethics Board.
