Hunter Soileau is the son of Grant Soileau. They each currently serve on the EPFD after being appointed by the Evangeline Parish Police Jury. Hunter Soileau is also an assistant fire chief at the Belaire Cove fire station.

La. R.S. 42:1119A provides that no immediate family member of an agency head shall be employed by his agency.
Section 1102(13) of the Code defines immediate family member to the public servant as his children, the spouses of his children, his brothers and their spouses, his sisters and their spouses, his parents, his spouse, and the parents of his spouse.
Section 1102(3) of the Code defines agency head as the chief executive or administrative officer of an agency or any member of a board or commission who exercises supervision over the agency.
