Mr. Movassaghi is a registered civil engineer and recently retired from C.H. Fenstermaker and Associates. Mr. Movassaghi stated that he would like to remain partially active in his profession by accepting a few consulting assignments from various private and governmental entities. He stated that he would like to seek appointment to the MPO, policy committee.
The MPO is the transportation planning agency for the Lafayette Urbanized Area. The MPO consists of representatives of local government and transportation authorities. The function of MPO is over-site of short and long range transportation plans. The MPO is an advisory committee only. MPO purpose is to advise on transportation improvements plans for the region in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
