| Advisory opinion request on behalf of Mary Lynch regarding whether she may serve as a substitute teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBRPSS) within two years of her termination from the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board (School Board). |

Ms. Lynch was appointed to the School Board on May 1, 2014. Her service on the School Board expires on December 31, 2014. Prior to her appointment to the School Board, she served throughout the EBRPSS as a substitute teacher.

La. R.S. 42:1121A(2) provides that no former member of a board or commission, for a period of two years following the termination of his public service on such board or commission, to contract with, be employed in any capacity by, or be appointed to any position by that board of commission.
