RE:
Appearance in connection with a request that the Board waive the $1500 late fee assessed against Louis Buatt for failure to timely file a Supplemental Registration Report.
Facts:
Mr. Buatt filed his Supplemental Registration report that was due by April 10, 2014, forty days late on May 20, 2014. He was assessed a late fee of $1500. Mr. Buatt states that they were in the process of training new secretarial assistance for their Governmental Relations Practice Group during the time of the filing.

Mr. Buatt contends that he misunderstood the significance of the actual "Start Date," assuming that it ran on a calendar month basis rather than being tied to a specific date of engagement or commencement of reportable activity. Mr. Buatt and employees in his office have since completed training and are confident they will not have this problem in the future.
