RE:
Request that the Board waive the $480 campaign finance late fee assessed against Sophia Dixon Brown, a candidate for District Judge, 4th Judicial District Court, City of Monroe, Ouachita Parish in the November 4, 2014 Election, whose 10-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 8 days late.
Facts:
In connection with her request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Sophia Dixon Brown states that her filing of the report late was not intentional as she was a first time candidate. She has remaining campaign funds of about $300, but paying the late fees would result in financial burden, as the remaining campaign funds will be depleted by paying the final Entergy bill for campaign headquarters. Also, the campaign account is still incurring monthly banking fees in the while she awaits a final bill.
