RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,000 and $1,000 campaign finance late fees assessed against Kent Mayeux, a candidate for Justice of the Peace, East Baton Rouge Parish in the November 4, 2014 Election, whose 30-P and 10-P campaign finance disclosure reports were not filed.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the reports, Kent Mayeux states that he was instructed to not file the 30-P or 10-P because he had not exceeded the $2500 expenditure limit during the covered period. He exceeded the $2500 limit on October 28, 2014. Moreover, he provided that he was specifically told at the Ethics CLE that he would not need to file any reports if he remained under the $2500 expenditure threshold.
