An advisory opinion request was received regarding whether the Code would prohibit Dr. Quyen Chu from using state funds to purchase three copies of a medical book for use at three LSU Health Centers, when Dr. Chu served as the principal editor of the medical book. Chairman Griffen stated that Dr. Chu will not receive any compensation or royalties for the sale of the medical book. Further, once purchased by Dr. Chu, he intends to gift the books to various LSU Health libraries.
