Katrina Polite is an employee with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Ms. Polite is responsible for motor vehicle transactions, reinstating driver privileges and occasionally administering written and road exams.
Ms. Polite states that the Office of Motor Vehicles does not administer exams to new drivers who attend Driver's Education. Ms. Polite also states that the driver's instruction is based on the Driver's Guide, which publicly available and provided to all patrons. Ms. Polite also states that her clients would be served and processed by other Office of Motor Vehicle employees.

La. R.S. 42:1111C(1)(a) prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value for any service, the subject matter of which is devoted substantially to the responsibilities, programs, or operations of the agency of the public servant and in which the public servant has participated.
