In connection with her request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Tiffany Sanders states that the 2014 supplemental report was filed late due to a breakdown in communication and user error. She states that the person who normally prepares the campaign reports was facing major medical issues. After receiving a certified notice that the report was late, steps were taken to rectify the matter. Instructions were given to the person taking the report preparer's place, and the report was entered into the LEADERS system on or about March 5, 2015. Ms. Sanders states that she did not realize that the report had not actually been submitted until she received a late fee order.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
