RE:
Request that the board waive the $700 campaign finance late fee assessed against Page McClendon, a candidate for Judge, Court of Appeal, 1st Circuit, 3rd District, in the November 6, 2012 election, whose 2014 Supplemental report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
In connection with her request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Judge Page McClendon states that she owed a 2014 supplemental report for a 2002 and a 2012 election. She and her CPA thought that both of the required reports were filed prior to the deadline on January 27, 2015. She did not realize that the supplemental report for the 2002 election had erroneously been filed twice until she received a letter from the Ethics Board. She believes the error occurred because of a software problem. The problem was corrected the same day that she received notification that a problem had occurred.
