Request that the Board reconsider waiving the $600, $720 and $360 campaign finance late fee assessed against David A. Capasso, a candidate for City Council, District A, Orleans Parish in the February 1, 2014 election, whose 30-P, 10-P and EDE-P reports were filed 32, 12 and 6 days late |

In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, David Capasso states that his campaign manager George "Gino" Gates had informed him that filings were being done properly and those files and the responses to any and all of the correspondences required were being done via electronic mail.
Mr. Capasso filed an appeal after the Ethics Board declined to waive his late fees. However, he meant for the request to be a reconsideration so he dismissed his appeal.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
