Request that the Board waive the $50 late fee assessed against Lobbyist Alan Bowser for the late filing of an Expenditure Report. |
|
Rick Sharma, Deputy Chief of Compliance Office for Bridgewater, submitted a waiver request on behalf of Mr. Alan Bowser. Mr. Sharma states that while there was intention to file Mr. Bowser's June 2015 Lobbyist Expenditure Report, unfortunately due to a clerical error, the filing was submitted one day late. Upon receiving electronic notification of the late filing on July 28, 2015, a Compliance Associate from Bridgewater Associates, LP (Mr. Bowser's employer) called the Louisiana Board of Ethics Administration staff. The Administration staff member confirmed that on or about July 22, 2015 Mr. Bowser's account had logged on to Louisiana's electronic lobbyist filing platform but the submit button was not triggered for the report.
Mr. Bowser's June 2015 expenditure report was immediately filed on July 28, 2015 with no expenditures to report. Mr. Bowser has been registered as a lobbyist with the state of Louisiana since 2012. Since registering, Mr. Bowser had been in good standing with Louisiana Ethics Administration.
