Clare Miller is an uncompensated member of the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition (Board of Examiners), which was created pursuant to La. R.S. 37:3084. Ms. Miller also serves as the Board of Examiner's liaison to the Louisiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (LAND), an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy). As liaison, she is required to attend LAND meetings, during which she expresses any concerns or legislative changes on behalf of the Board of Examiners.
The Academy is a national professional association committed to improving the nation's health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy. Furthermore, the Legislative and Public Policy Committee (Committee) guides the establishment of the Academy's public policy work including, but not limited to, activities related to federal and state public policy, legislative, and regulatory issues. Members of the Committee are not compensated for their service, but they receive reimbursement of travel, lodging, and per diem expenses incurred in connection with attending the two Committee meetings per year.
Finally, there is no relationship or interaction between the Board of Examiners and the Academy.
