Request that the board waive the $1,700 campaign finance late fee assessed against Victor Mainiero, candidate for BESE, District 3 in the October 24, 2015 election, whose 180-P report was filed 36 days late. |
|
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the180-P report, Victor A. Mainiero states that he was new to this process as it was the first time running for office. Once he learned the report needed to be filed electronically, he overnighted the affidavit to receive a login into the system so the report could be filed. He received the login information two weeks later, resulting in this penalty for missing the deadline. All reports after were filed on time. Mr. Mainiero removed his name from candidacy and never qualified with the Secretary of State to run for office. All contributions to his campaign were refunded to contributors minus expenses incurred by the campaign.
