RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 and $600 campaign finance late fees assessed against Allen Guillory, a candidate for State Representative, District 40 in the October 24, 2015 Election, whose 30-P and 10-G campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 12 and 11 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fees assessed for the late filings of the reports, Allen Guillory states that he called and spoke with campaign finance staff a few weeks prior to the reports being due and was told that no reports were due. He states that he misunderstood staff and filed the reports as soon as he realized they were late.

Law:
18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
Recommendations:
Suspend all based on future compliance for the 30-P report.
Decline to waive for the 10-G report.
