RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Maury "Bubby" Leone, a candidate for Sabine Parish Sheriff in the October 24, 2015 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 12 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request that the Board waive the late fee assessed for the late filing of the report, Maury Leone states that this was his first time running for office and he did not realize he owed another report since he lost the election. He stated that his wife had reconstructive knee surgery on November 18, 2015 and he did not receive the letter telling him his report was late until November 24, 2015. He lives in a rural area and he receives his mail 10 miles from his residence.
