Carencro Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC) was created by City of Carencro Ordinance 93-01 as a separate entity whose purpose is to develop, maintain and operate public park and recreational properties and facilities in the City of Carencro. Members of the commission are paid for their service on PARC with commission members receiving $125 per month, commission officers receiving $250 per month, and the chairman of the commission receiving $2,000 per month. Two people, Amy Arceneaux Vitte and Sonny Gremillion, are being considered as potential appointments to PARC. Connie Arceneaux, the mother of Amy Arceneaux Vitte, owns Creative T-Shirts, a business that sells t-shirts to Pelican Park which is owned by the City of Carencro and under the supervision of PARC. Sonny Gremillion is the son-in-law of L.J. Boudreaux, a current Carencro City Councilman.

La. R.S. 42:1113A(1)(a) prohibits public servants, their immediate family members, or legal entities in which they have a controlling interest, from entering into any contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant.
