Lisa Ivey currently serves as an investigator with the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office. If hired with the Jefferson Davis Sheriff's office, she would be assigned to work criminal investigations under Ramby Cormier's direct supervision as the Commander of Criminal Investigations.
Christopher Ivey serves as the Chief Deputy. The duties and responsibilities of Chief Deputy Ivey include monitoring contracts of the Sheriff's Office, handling public records request, supervising the Commanders in completing their duties and responsibilities, coordinating security details and special assignments. Chief Deputy Ivey would recuse himself from participating or being involved in the immediate supervision of Lisa Ivey. The Sheriff is only one that hire or fires employees. Commander Cormier would answer directly to Sheriff Ivy Woods on matters concerning Lisa Ivey's hiring and all decisions about promotions, salary increases, or disciplinary actions. Sheriff Woods is responsible for the hiring and other employment decisions for the Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office. Chief Deputy Ivey has no authority in that decision making process.

La. R.S. 42:1119A provides that no member of the immediate family of an agency head shall be employed in his agency as the Chief Deputy is not an agency head position in this instance.
La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) prohibits a public servant from participating in a transaction involving the governmental entity in which, to his actual knowledge, an immediate family member has a substantial economic interest.
