Megan Clemons is a teacher assigned to one of the programs at Washington-Marion Magnet High School where she has been continuously employed since August 2011. Her mother, Jackie Shelton, became principal of Washington-Marion Magnet High School during the second semester of the 2013-2014 school year.
The Calcasieu Parish School Board proposes that responsibility for routine matters involving the employment of Megan Clemons, such as general supervision, work hours and absences, work assignments, parking, room assignments, work duties, supplies, evaluations, and observations will be assigned to Jesse Unkle, an assistant principal at Washington-Marion Magnet High School.The evaluations of Megan Clemons by the assistant principal at Washington-Marion Magnet High School will be reviewed by and subject to the approval of the Administrative Director of High Schools who shall also have responsibility for all remaining decisions related to her employment, including recommendations and decisions regarding salary, awards and recognitions, promotions, demotions, extended leave and discipline. Responsibility for employment related matters, other than those specifically assigned to the Administrative Director of High Schools, may be delegated by the Administrative Director the assistant principal. The Administrative Director may additionally assume responsibility for any and all employment related to matters pertaining to Megan Clemons. The principal shall have no responsibility or authority regarding matters related to the employment of her daughter.
