Chris Williams, Chairman for United Ballot, states the person who normally prepared his reports was out of the office ill and could not prepare the report. He states that he subsequently found out the report was not sent in and filed it immediately. He also states that the 10-G report was faxed timely, but the line was busy and it went through later.
Mr. Williams requests the penalties be waived for all late fees assessed for the November 8, 2016 election. He states the assessment of these fees would hamper their ability to increase voter participation in the state of Louisiana.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
