Request that the Board waive the $2,000, $2,000 and $2,000 campaign finance late fees assessed against Joe Dorsey, in his capacity as a candidate for Councilman, Metro District 5, East Baton Rouge Parish, in the November 8, 2016, whose 30-P, 10-P and 10-G campaign finance disclosure report were filed 111, 90 and 61 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Joseph G. Dorsey states that he was flooded back in August 2016 which paralyzed him and his business. His home had six feet of water and all documents, reports, insurance papers and election records were destroyed. He asks that the Board waive his late fees due to his hardship.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
Recommendations:
Waive the late fees for the 30-P, 10-P and 10-G reports.
