Request that the Board waive the $2,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against David E. Peralta, in his capacity as a candidate for St. Bernard Parish President in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 2014 Supplemental report was filed inaccurately.
Facts:
David Peralta states that he attempted to amend the 2014 supplemental report to change the name of the treasurer as requested, but for some reason it was never received by the Ethics Board.

Law:
18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
Recommendations:
Suspend all based on future compliance for the 2014 supplemental report.

Rescind the reassessment of $260 for the 30-P report.


Advise Mr. Peralta that all future reports must be submitted using the Leaders online system.
