Reconsideration request that the Board waive the $1,500 late fee assessed against Deidra Jackson for her failure to timely file a Lobbyist Supplemental Report. |
|
Initial Consideration:
Ms. Jackson states that she represents Huntsman Corporation which also owns Rubicon, LLC. She attempted to add the name to her existing Louisiana registration to provide clarity, but it seemed to have been interpreted as if she was registering another company. Ms. Jackson is requesting the Board to retract the assessment.
Reconsideration Request:
In Ms. Jackson's reconsideration request, she states that Rubicon, LLC is owned by Huntsman Corporation. She also states that she was not aware that listing Rubicon's name on her registration would require her to pay a supplemental registration fee. Ms. Jackson states it was an error on her part and is asking for a complete waiver of the $1500 penalty.
Ms. Jackson has since amended her registration to reflect that she has only one client, Huntsman/Rubicon, who is paying her to lobby on its behalf. She told Kathleen Allen that she added Rubicon, because most people are familiar with the name Rubicon, rather than Huntsman, so she was trying to make that clear on her report.
