RE:
Request that the Board waive the $160 campaign finance late fee assessed against Rosetta Wilson, a candidate for Councilmen, Town of Coushatta in the November 8, 2016 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 48 days late.
Facts:
Rosetta Wilson states that the late submission of her report was a total oversight due to family emergencies with her mother and sister. In addition to her mother suffering with dementia, she had to go to Dallas, TX, to assist her sister with surgery recovery and on-going treatment. She stated that, in normal circumstances, the report would have been submitted timely. Due to the situations that occurred suddenly, she was pulled in various directions and needed to assist immediately.
