Ms. McClure requested an advisory opinion regarding whether the Code of Governmental Ethics would prohibit her, a part time employee of the Department of Education, from serving on the Board of Trustees of an Orleans Parish Charter School. Ms. McClure stated that she has been working part time on an Academic Content Team under Assistant Superintendent Rebecca Kockler. Ms. McClure provided that her work focuses on academic matters related to students with disabilities. She has been asked to join the founding board of a proposed non-profit that will eventually apply for a Type 1 charter school with the Orleans Parish School Board.
